Study in WOU

Author: LegendChew | Files under Legend Diary

I have join Wawasan Open University (WOU) to advance my study in bachelor degree in e-commerce. The greatest thing that I love about the course is the 1st semester was given a scholarship if my salary is below RM3k which is a “Yes” to me. So the rest amount that I need to pay is just RM150 for the administration and registration fees. I know it takes 5 year to complete my degree graduation since is part-time but it worth. Parent always think education brings a better life in the future. I can guarantee they are wrong because my friend without a diploma already a boss of two hairs style saloon shop and one academic institute while I’m still a lousy hired employee at some company.

While, let’s get back to the story. I love the environment in the University. It was so comfortable place to study and you can even enjoy the sea view while having lunch at the cafeteria. Furthermore, it has free wifi for us to use whole day and the most important thing is the speed was awesome (1GB!!). Unfortunately their university staff and student were not friendly as I expected. I miss the day I met Miyco Lee who has a talented sales skill. She is the 1ST and last one who impresses and lure me to join WOU. The rest of the staff either in university or regional office is damn cool and arrogant. They don’t seem to care who the hell you are. So get used to it. They are useless so let them be. Just ignore them and focus on your study better.

The university provides an online learning known as LMS or WawasanLearn. Unfortunately, those things are totally craps but at least they did put their effort on it. I haven’t seen any college/university that I enter did that before. It is a good start for them. The student wasn’t active in the LMS which has a multiple forum for them to learn about their course and public discussion. I believe one of the main reasons is that the interface was not user-friendly. I do fed-up using the LMS they provided. I don’t like their website design. It was like my cousin son learning how to create a web page using html programming language on their website and I can assure you that my cousin son create a better design than the university itself. Secondly, they have too many forums which have similar discussion. For example, they got public and general forum. Both of the objectives are the same which share student discussion generally. I don’t know why they have to separate it into two which confuse most of the student when they want to create a new topic in the forum. I guess their thought was thinking “1 big apple plus 1 small apple is not equal to 2 apples”. Well, I hope they could find someone to revise what they have done and revise it as soon as possible.

Till then, to be continue….

    Hi Qurey,

You can get the final examination from the link below:

    http://wou.edu.my/library/finding_exampapers.aspx

For the quiz you can attempt it from WawasanLearn or LMS:
    http://lms.wou.edu.my/
(Most of my subject don’t have quiz)

Regardless to inform you that for my assignment is copyright. No sharing is allow. :)
Try to full utilize the LMS forum or join group disccusion as most of the learner can share their ideas on how to tackle and answer the TMA question.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi Chew,
You are totally right about the commentary for the WOU, but not all is arrogant to me, at least the tutor is friendly and good approach to student, yet as a part time student to pursue a Degree it is double hardwork and contribution to both family and personal skill growth.
As your comment on your friend without diploma is a TAUKE, I would like to share with you a thought of mine. If you are not lucky, you may faced robbery or theft case or even fire that burnt down all your assets and belonging, disaster may take away all you belongs, but they couldn’t take away your knowledge!
Jewish is the most cleaver among races, they faced many unfair treatment from societies, even they faced difficulty to get loans. Knowledge to them equally is the most treasures.
